Relationships can be challenging!

Lack of trust, breakdown of communication and uncertainty can create serious challenges for couples. What sometimes feel like small issues can quickly snowball and create perpetual problems for couples, often creating a cycle of negative interactions, feelings of isolation and resentment towards your loved one. If this captures your experience, you are not alone. Most if not all couples face adversity in their lifetime but I believe you can gain control and steer towards the kind of relationship you want and deserve. One that brings you peace and connection.

In couples therapy we can intervene at different stages…

Pre-marital counseling can help ensure you set a strong foundation to build on. Weekly couples counseling can help tackle specific challenges and build skills to stop unhelpful habits in their tracks. Even couples that feel on the brink of walking away can gain clarity and confidence through counseling.

Individually….

Sometimes relationship struggles can impact us deeply and personally, requiring an individual therapy approach. Individuals can struggle with things like depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. Therapy can help you with transitions and personal development.

I’m Yaira Rosa, a Marriage & Family Therapy Associate and it is my passion to help couples navigate difficult relationships. I aim to create a space where both partners feel heard and understood. My therapeutic style is warm, engaging, collaborative and non-judgmental. I pride myself in bringing my authentic self to therapy and welcome my clients to do the same. I meet you where you are and we work from there. I have had experience working with couples doing premarital counseling, weekly counseling as well as discernment counseling.

I use a combination of Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level II trained) and EFT (Emotion Focused Couples Therapy). I also have experience working with individual clients in a community mental health setting which awarded me experience with a number of mental health struggles. When I work with Individuals, I tailor therapy to the person and integrate models like narrative, solution focus and ACT to reach their goals.

On a more personal level, I am a mother of 3 and a military spouse. I have been married to my husband for almost 14 years and as you can imagine we have had to learn to adjust to change, time and time again. My experience has given me a good level of insight into unique challenges military families face and an ever-growing level of respect and empathy. Working with military connected clients is always rewarding.

As a native Spanish speaker, I love to do my part in making therapy accessible to my Latino community so I will be offering therapy services in Spanish as well. Se habla Espanol!
